The Problem

When tasked with designing and installing a new Weba chute at a mine in Northern Cape, Weba encountered challenges typical of complex industrial projects. Determining the precise area for chute installation and ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure posed significant hurdles. Without accurate spatial data and detailed insights into structural layouts, the risk of encountering clashes and inefficiencies during installation loomed large.

The Solution

Weba employed advanced 3D laser scanning technology to address the complexities of chute installation at the Northern Cape mine. By conducting detailed scans of the site, Weba obtained comprehensive spatial data that facilitated precise identification of the optimal location for chute placement. Additionally, the scanning data enabled Weba to detect and address potential structural clashes and other issues early in the design phase, ensuring seamless integration of the new chute with existing infrastructure.
